Johnny Anthony Vega was born on July 26, 1940 in Porterville, CA to Toby Vega and Adela Peyron. He passed away on January 14, 2019 in Porterville, California. Johnny was a resident of Porterville all his life, He attended and graduated from Porterville High School and soon after enlisted and served the US Army from September 1963 –September 1965.

On March 25, 1973 Johnny married his sweetheart Wanda Alexander Roy and went on to spend 45 wonderful years together. Johnny worked as a Mechanic Inspector for the US Forestry Service but he also loved working on his Ford Model A. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed telling stories about bears up in the mountains. He also enjoyed working with his crew and spending time with all his friends and family.

Johnny was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: David and Danny Vega. Surviving family include his loving wife Wanda A. Vega. 1 stepson: Tommy Roy from Pueblo, CO.

2 Stepdaughters: Elizabeth Carrillo from Pueblo, CO and Rebecca Roy Sanchez from Denver, CO. Johnny also had numerous nieces and nephes: Joseph Vega Porterville, CA and David Vega from Stockton , CA. Yvette Vega from Montana and Tonya Castaneda from Phoeix, AZ.

1 Great Nephew : Chayton Vega as well as numerous cousins. All those who new Johnny will miss him dearly. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Porterville Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel.
