Obituary for Johnny E Lee Johnny Earl Lee, 90 Johnny Earl Lee was born in Beaver Hill (Overton County), Tennessee, to the late Joe Beecher and Velma Freeman Lee on July 13, 1928. He left this life to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 9, 2018. We knew that his body could not be healed this side of Heaven, and he was ready for his Heavenly healing.

He owned a powerful love for our Lord and Savior that he delighted in sharing with others. He never met a stranger and was well known for his warm hugs and his enormous capacity to love everyone. His love for the earth contributed to his commitment to recycling and composting.

His love for flowers, shrubs, and trees created a beautiful garden that neighbors called “Little Cypress Garden”. His love for wood provided many pieces of beautiful furniture for his family. His love for his country led him to serve in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

His love for his family made memories that will sustain us. Everything he touched grew larger and more beautiful. He was the ultimate encourager.

The only thing he asked of us was to return that great love. He made that easy to do. He married and was joined to the heart of Daphne Hutchinson on June 7, 1954.

He and Daphne spent 34 years as the owners of Johnny Lee’s Truck and Trailer in Lakeland, Florida. He is survived by Daphne H. Lee, his wife of 64 years; four children and their spouses, Marsha and Robert Newman, Mindy and Jay Stephens, Angela and Mike Smith, and Jim and Abby Lee; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Joe C. Lee and Don Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Edith Lee and Gusta Adams, brothers, Joe Frank, Harley, Robert, and Douglas Lee, and a granddaughter.
