After retiring from Uncle Sam, he later went on to also serve with the City of Copperas Cove for another 23 years. In his down time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. But more than his hobbies, his greatest love and enjoyment was his time with his family – his wife and especially with the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was given the nickname “The Prankster” as he was always playing practical jokes with the kids. A public viewing for Mr. Taft will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 211 W. Ave B, Copperas Cove on Jan. 3, 2019 from 6-8 pm.
