Obituary for Jose Angel “Cheo” Lugo Jose Angel “Cheo” Lugo, age 64 of Bridgeport, husband of Ivette Lugo, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Jose was born July 3, 1954 in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico; the beloved son of the late Juan Santo Lugo & Paula Berrocales Lugo. Jose was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Jose was a strong and hardworking man. He was employed for many years as a driver for the Department of Transportation. Jose loved the outdoors.

He enjoyed fishing, playing baseball, and cooking on the grill. Jose also enjoyed a good game of dominoes in his free time. He will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In addition to his father, Juan Santos Lugo, Jose was predeceased by his sister, Delia Lugo. Jose is survived by his: wife of 45 years, Ivette M. Rivera Lugo; mother, Paula Lugo; daughter, Marisol Cartagena & son-in-law Juan Cartagena of Bridgeport; son, Jose Lugo Jr. of Bridgeport; son, Joshua Lugo & daughter-in-law Veronica Lugo of Bridgeport; daughter, Jacqueline Lugo of Bridgeport; sister, Monserate Lugo; brother, Luis Lugo; brother, Israel Lugo; sister, Carmen Lugo; brother, Roberto Torres; sister, Sandra Lugo; brother, Edwin Lugo; grandson, Miguel A. Rodriguez; grandson, King Cartagena; granddaughter, Victoria Cartagena; grandson, Raymond Ryan; grandson, Joseph Ryan; grandson, Jose Lugo III; granddaughter, Jocelyn Lugo; grandson, Fabian Lugo; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 10:00a.m. – 1:00p.m. at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave.
