Jose Casarez Jr., 86, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 in Laredo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Casarez Sr., mother, Clara Rubio, sister, Emilia Valls Zuazua, brother, Miguel Zepeda, and son, Jose Casarez IV. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gloria A. Casarez, daughters: Lydia (Enrique) Valdez, Linda (Santos) Hernandez, Alicia (Jose) Gomez, Sandy (Ramiro) Cervera, and son, Humberto Casarez, 15 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at the Laredo City Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Fort Sam Houston and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Humberto Casarez, Ramiro Cervera, Rene Herrera, Jose Gomez, Justin Hernandez, Enrique Valdez Sr., Enrique Valdez Jr., and Ernesto Valdez. Funeral services are under the arrangement of Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043.
