Jose Eutimio “Grandpo Chicken” Garcia February 03, 1941 – February 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Jose Eutimio “Grandpo Chicken” Garcia, 78, passed away on February 11, 2019, at Vecinos Sanos Assisted Living in Santa Rosa, NM. Jose Eutimio was born on February 3, 1941, in Dahlia, NM to the home of Enrique and Sergia (Baca) Garcia. He attended school in Dahlia and later worked as a farmer and also constructed many adobe buildings in Anton Chico and the surrounding area.

A long-time resident of Anton Chico and parishioner at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Jose Eutimio enjoyed gardening and good conversation with his friends, but he particularly enjoyed the time he spent with his family. Jose Eutimio is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children; Estella (Baca) Garcia, his second wife; Epimenia Garcia, sister; Erlinda Baca and step-son; Louis Lucero. He is survived by his sons; Jerome Garcia and wife Claudina of Anton Chico, Alfred Baca and wife Sandra of Las Vegas, NM, Pablo Baca of Anton Chico, and daughter; Lucille Romero of Dodge City, Kansas, step-children; Regina Linda Rael, Eddie Lucero and Ida Lucero all of Tucumcari, NM; grandchildren; Renee, Ricardo, Katrina, Jasmine, Jennifer, Patricia, Paula, Carlos, Matthew, Marcus, Mario, Miquella, Ramon, Guadalupe and Yolanda, along with numerous great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings; Juanita Olguin of Anton Chico, Clara Olguin and husband Juan of Anton Chico, Faustina Encinias and husband Bravio of Albuquerque, Adan Garcia and wife Lucille of Albuquerque, Estevan Baca and wife Dorothy of Puerto De Luna and Candida Baca of Anton Chico. Serving as Urn Bearers are; Matthew Garcia, Marcus Garcia, Mario Garcia, Carlos Baca, Ricardo Baca, Ramon Romero, and Miquella Garcia. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 1 P.M. -4 P.M. at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 10 A.M. at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa with visitation one hour prior to the service. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico, with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at Sangre De Cristo Cemetery in Upper Anton Chico.
