Obituary for Jose Gutierrez Hidalgo Jose Gutierrez Hidalgo (72) of West Valley, Utah passed away peacefully in January 5th, 2019 after fighting an illness in the hospital for a month surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Perú and his closes friends and relatives called him “Pepe”. He was an officer of the Nationa Police of Peru with the rank of Captain, Class of 71 named “Los Bravos” (“The Braves”).

Graduated as a Systems Engineer and MBA. After many years of searching for the true Gospel of Jesus Christ he converted and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2003 when he and his family moved to Utah. During his 15 years of member of the church he served in different callings in his Home Ward and in the Granger North Stake.

Pepe achieved a strong and firm testimony of Jesus Christ and the Plan of salvation he shared in every opportunity he had. He loved the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ deeply. During his 15 years of church membership he served in different callings both in his Ward and at his Stake.

He served in the Jordan River Temple as an ordinance worker. He was a man of strong character, defender of his beliefs, fighter and persevering in the achievement of his personal and family goals. He liked to enjoy the company of his family and friends and of the good music and the rich food.

He enjoyed contemplating nature and meditating. Preceded in the death by his parents Rosa Hidalgo and José Manuel Gutiérrez. He is survived by his wife Carla and her daughter Paola; his children of first marriage with Elena Zapata: José Luis, Alberto and Maricarmen; three grandchildren; seven brothers Leonardo, Winer, Pedro, Adolfo, Raúl, Héctor and Ernesto; and many nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at 3175 S 3450 W, West Valley City, viewing from 8:00 to 11:45 am, services will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm and then departure to the cemetery Elysian Burial Gardens in 4580 S and 1075 E Millcreek.
