Obituary of Jose Barreira Jose M. Barreira, age 53, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria Filomena Santos Barreira. Born in Bridgeport on March 9, 1965, he was a son of Elza Mello Barreira of Trumbull and the late Belmiro Barreira.

Jose was employed by Amtrak, where he worked as a conductor for many years. He was an avid supporter of the Buffalo Bills and loved hunting and fishing. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent with his family.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his mother and beloved wife Filomena of 22 years, other survivors include his brother, Jorge Barreira and his wife Heather of Stratford and his sister, Tina Mancini and her husband Anthony of Trumbull. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd. , Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
