Obituary of Vincent Sanfilippo Vincent C. Sanfilippo of Fairfield, husband of Madeline Marsilio Sanfilippo, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, November 1, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Vincent was born in Georgetown, Connecticut on September 11, 1935 to Joseph and Louise Sanfilippo and was raised in Bridgeport. He was a graduate of Harding High School Class of 1955.

Vincent became a Bridgeport firefighter in 1958 and served for over 20 years. He was married in 1961 to Madeline Marsilio of Fairfield, Connecticut for 57 years, and together they had two sons, Joseph C. Sanfilippo of Fairfield, Connecticut and Vincent A. Sanfilippo of Stratford, Connecticut. Vincent served in the United States Army in the early 1960s.

He was the president of JVS Builders, Inc. for over 50 years. In 1981, he retired from the Bridgeport Fire Department and his family moved to Fairfield, where he continued operating his construction business. Vincent was a parishioner at Assumption Church in Fairfield, Treasurer of the Lake Forest Clubhouse Association, on the Board of Trustees for Saint Raphael’s Church, a member of the Catholic War Veterans, a member of the Trinacria Society, a member of Port Five, a member of the American Legion, and Secretary and Treasurer of the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Mary Lage and her husband Americo Lage, his brother Frank Papa and sister-in-law Nancy Papa, his nephew, Anthony Lage, and his niece, Marie Lage Harris. He is also predeceased by his in-laws, Anthony and Theresa Marsilio, his sister-in law, Elizabeth Marsilio Damico, and his brothers-in-law, Anthony Marsilio Jr. and James Hyslop. Along with his loving wife, Madeline, he is survived by his two sons, a daughter-in-law, Antonella Mucciacciaro Sanfilippo, three grandchildren, Jennifer R. Sanfilippo, Christopher J. Sanfilippo, and Daniel V. Sanfilippo, whom he cherished and adored.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Diane Marsilio Hyslop, a brother-in-law, Salvatore Damico, and five nieces, Sally Ann Turgeon, Louise Papa Norell, Mary Ann Papa Belavacqua, Lorraine Papa, and Roberta Papa Shea. Throughout his life, Vincent most of all enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was an animal lover, avid fisherman and boater, enjoyed vacationing with his wife, and loved tinkering with antique cars.

Vincent also had a passion for photography, and had a camera with him wherever he went. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 5, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd. , Fairfield.

Entombment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday November 4, 2018, between 1:00 and 5:00 pm at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd. , Trumbull.
