Josefa Rivera, 88, of Jersey City passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Josefa was born in Maricao, Puerto Rico on April 18, 1930. Remembered by many as the cupcake lady on the 3rd floor of the Montgomery Gardens Apartments, where she lived for more than 50 years.

Josefa was employed by the Visiting Homemaker Association of Hudson County before retiring in 1995. Josefa was preceded in death by her loving husband, Agustine Rivera. Josefa was the devoted mother of Agustine Rivera, Jr., Jose (Anne), Harry (Nancy), Angelina (Luis E.), Geronimo (Judy); loving grandmother of Agustine III, Elyse, Celina, Deanna, Gabriella, Rosalie (Cindy), Harry Jr. (Junie), Joseph, Angelica, Stephanie, Arielle, Tiffany, Christine, Amy Lynn and Alex; cherished great-grandmother of Robert Liam, Alex, Jose Alex, Gabriel, Elijah, Sophia, Liam, Ian and Eli.

Visitation is on Friday, April 27, 2018, 4:00pm to 8:00pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd. , Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation it is best to use parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St.). Everyone will meet for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 10:45am at St. Joseph’s Church, Jersey City.

Entombment will follow at Bergen Crest Mausoleum, North Bergen.
