Obituary for Joseph Charles Butler On the afternoon of July 26, 2018, Charles was called home to heaven by Jesus with his loving family by his side. He was born February 4, 1940, to Tommy and Johnnie Butler in Doucette, Texas of Tyler County. He loved his family especially his grand and great-grandchildren.

Charles enjoyed watching the shows The Riffleman and Gunsmoke, as well as watching any sport he could find on television. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia; sons, Charles Raymond and wife, Kim, Joe David; former daughter-in-law, Stacy Rogers; grandchildren, Justin David, Cody Kirk and wife, Chelsi, and Paige; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters, Tommy, Kenneth, Wanda, Rosemary, Frances, Belinda; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements were made under the care of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
