Obituary for Joseph Coleman A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point for Joseph “T-Joe” Coleman, 89, who passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at The Ellington Nursing Home/ Long Term Care Facility in Rayne at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Emmanuel Awe, SSJ, Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church New Cemetery Mausoleum in Church Point.

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services all at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point. Survivors include seven sons, Retired Full Bird Col. Joseph Bradley and wife, Sigrid Coleman of Blythwood, SC, John Thaddeus and wife, Heidi Coleman of the Woodlands, TX, Retired Gunnery Sgt.

Gerald and wife, Vanessa Coleman of Jacksonville, NC, Retired Naval Lt. Commander Jude Coleman of Honolulu, HI, Christopher Coleman of Atlanta, GA, Retired Sr. Master Sgt. Shawn and wife, Naomi Coleman of Melbourne, FL, and Dr. Nathaniel and wife, Dr. Jean Armisha Coleman of Charlotte, NC; five daughters, Honorable Judge Magdeline Denise and husband, Lloyd Wing, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, Myra Coleman-Gibbs of Church Point, Melonie and husband, Paul Richard of Baton Rouge, La, Maria Consolotta and husband, Gerard Broussard of Church Point, Dr. Margeaux and husband, Thomas Walker, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, Elton and wife, Liz Charlot of New Orleans, Elvin and wife Ruby Sharlow of Sunset; twenty-nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and several extended family members.

Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Arceneaux Coleman; his parents, Earl and Pearly C. Coleman; one brother, John Charlot and one sister, Gertie Charlo.
