Obituary for Joseph Earl Stuart Joseph E. Stuart, 64, of Newnan, was surrounded by family when he passed away at Piedmont Newnan Hospital on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Joseph was born in Greencastle, Indiana on April 7, 1954 to the late Roy and Lois (Whited) Stuart. He graduated from South Putnam High School and received his degree from Clark College in Indianapolis.

He proudly served four years in the United States Navy. Joseph was the office manager of Coweta Greenhouses, Inc. in Newnan for eighteen years. He dedicated much of his time to both the business and to his greenhouse family.

An avid reader and proclaimed film buff, he also enjoyed the music of 70’s folksingers. His greatest pleasure in life was being “Poppy” to his grandsons, Benjamin and Wesley. Joseph is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Gibbs) Stuart; daughters Emily (Mike) Wall, Molly (Ryan) Davison, and Hayley (Rusty) Stuart; grandsons, Benjamin and Wesley; and several grandpets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lois, and brothers, Mike and Bruce. Cremation was chosen and the family held private services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to his daughters’ favorite charities: The Donald W. Nixon Centre for Performing and Visual Arts, the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
