Obituary for Byron F. Wood Byron Wood, age 75, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 after a battle with cancer. The son of Eunice and Ben Wood, he was born in Vero Beach, FL and grew up with his five sisters and brother living on a bridge his father tended. After graduating from high school, Byron served two years in the Army.

He then worked for 20 years as a lineman for Southern Bell. After retiring from Relyco Security Res, he enjoyed playing guitar in various music groups around town. He was a devoted father and grandfather.

He is survived by his two children, Steve (Shannon) Wood of Peachtree City and Polly Haugen of Newnan, and his four granddaughters, Brannan, Branson, Clara Berry, and Edie. He is also survived by his three sisters, Charlotte (Jerry) Devane of Fort Pierce, FL; Sandy (Calvin) Dixon of Valdosta, GA; and Janice Sizelove of Vero Beach, FL.
