OBITUARY Joseph Etiopia August 15, 1922 – November 25, 2018 Joseph Etiopia, 96, of Overland Park, KS, died Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents Alessio and Rosa (Macaluso) Etiopia, his wife of 58 years, Mary Carmela (Rizzuti), three sisters and brothers and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He leaves behind his daughters, Rosemary (David) Owens and Angela (Wes) Bolyard, along with grandchildren Carlye (Andrew) Trask, Brent (Brianna) Owens, Marlisa (Ryan) Rader, and great granddaughter, Maclin.

He also leaves beloved nephews and nieces and their spouses. He proudly served in the US Navy in the Pacific Arena during WWII. He made parts for jet engines for Westinghouse, he owned a landscaping business and worked for the US Postal Service.

When he retired, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and made sure never to miss a Naval Reunion each year. He deeply loved his God, his country, his family and friends. Visitation will be 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Friday, November 30 at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 w. 93RD Street, Overland Park, KS, 66213.

Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetry at 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO, 64138. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charity of your choice.
