Obituary for Joseph J. Cavuto Print Cavuto, Joseph J. Gates: Thursday, February 21, 2019, at age 99. Predeceased by his loving wife of 72 years, Ann (LoVecchio) Cavuto; son-in-law, Steve Messina; brothers, Daniel (Kay) Cavuto, John (Millie) Risolo, Michael Risolo, Bennie Risolo; sister, Mary (Joe) DelFave. He is survived by his children, Johanna Messina (Donald Wilbert), Alexander (Sharon) Cavuto; granddaughter, Cassandra (Jeremy) Cummings; great grandchildren, Cameron and Fiona; niece, Mary Carol Cavuto of MI; many other nieces and nephews.

Joe served in the US Army during WWII as a staff sergeant. He received two gold stars for his bravery fighting in the Pacific Theater for 3½ of his five year Army career. Before entering the Army he served in the CC Camps.

He was a member of the American Legion and Gates Amita Club. Friends may call THURSDAY from 4-7PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd. , Gates.

On Friday, March 1, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Theodore’s Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Honor Flight Rochester, Inc. PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692 in his memory.
