Joseph Michael Troyer was born May 2, 1957 on a farm south of Milford, Nebraska to Milton and Betty (Stutzman) Troyer, the 5th of 6 children and entered into his eternal home on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at his home near Milford at the age of 61. As a young boy, Joe accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized by his father and became a life-long member of the Milford Mennonite Church.

He attended grade school and later became a 1975 graduate of Milford High School. After high school, Joe moved out to Erie, Pennsylvania where he worked for the Troyer Potato Chip Farms. On July 16, 1977, he was united in marriage to Sandy Yeackley with his father officiating and to this union three daughters were born: Andrea Lee, Tiffany Jo and Lindsey Sarah.

Joe was employed by Ron Leichty and was a butcher for Schlegel Grocery for many years. He farmed and raised livestock and in 1989, Joe and Sandy operated Troyer’s Restaurant for seven years. Joe joined his brother Dan where he worked for Troyer Concrete.

As most people would know, Joe wore a lot of hats, and would do just about anything for anybody. Joe was a devoted, faithful servant and served his church in many different roles. He had a gift for mentoring people of all walks of life.

His quiet faith impacted the lives of many people and his legacy will be carried on by his children and others. He enjoyed golf, traveling with friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to entertain and there was always meat on the grill.
