Joseph M. Rose Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 . He was 77 years old. Born in Norristown in 1941 to the late James and Catherine (Labriola) he was a veteran of the United States Army and a Norristown Police Officer until he and his beloved wife Virginia “Ginny” (Thomas) became the owners and operators of the former Ridge Runner Roller Rink.

Joseph was an avid train and slot car collector. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother James Rose; his son Joseph M. Rose II & wife Melissa; his daughter Nicole H. Rose & husband John; his grandchildren Jessica, Cole, Michael, Gavin & Aleks and his great grandaughter Gianna. He was preceded in death by his sister Elaine Russo.

Services will be on Sunday, February 10th at Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W Germantown Pk, East Norriton, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 2pm to 3 pm, followed by a celebration of life ceremony at 3 pm. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions can be made to The Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center at 3400 Civic Center Blvd. , Philadelphia PA 19104.
