Joseph Schanck Sanford, Michigan Joe age 85, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 23, 1933 in Pinconning, Michigan to the late Albert & May Belle (Putnam) Schanck. He married Beverly on April 9, 1996 in Midland, Michigan.

He served his country in the United States Army. Joe retired from Dow Chemical Company after numerous years of service. He was on the Board… Read More » at the Mill’s Senior Center for numerous years and delivered meals to those home bound.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and telling family stories but most of all he enjoyed his family time whether it was a gathering or just a few sitting and visiting. He is survived by his wife Beverly of 22 years whom he met while volunteering at the Mills Senior Center. He is also survived by his children; Cheryl Ann Schanck, Cindy (Larry) Drouin, Luanne Berge, Susan Blake, Karin Anger, Mary Jo (Allan) Brandt and Allen Berge, 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, a brother James Schanck, many nieces and nephews and his two dogs Duke and Morty.

He was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy Schanck and a son Joseph Schanck, a son in law Douglas Blake and four brothers. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 3 pm from the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home with inurnment in Luzerne Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 11 am until time of service.
