He was born in Hilo, HI and was a retired Warehouse Supply Clerk with the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM, followed by cremation.

Friends may also call at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Columbarium on Friday, May 24, 2019 where urn committal services will take place at 9:00 AM. The family requests that casual attire be worn to the services. He is survived by his: Wife, Evelyn M. Pavao of Hilo, HI; Sons, Joseph (Cory) Pavao, Jr. of Kea’au, HI, Steven (Meredyth Canario) Pavao of Waikoloa, HI and Daniel (Angeline Paglinawan) Pavao, Sr. of Pepe’ekeo, HI; Daughters, Laurie Pavao of Kea’au, HI and Jennifer (James) Arquitola of Kea’au, HI; Sister-in-law, Angeline Pavao of Hilo, HI; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
