Joseph Turco Jr. January 23, 1932 – January 01, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Joe passed away peacefully on January 1, 2019 after a lengthy battle with COPD while at the Retsil Veterans Home in Port Orchard Washington. Joe was born at Tacoma General Hospital on January 23rd, 1932 to Joseph Turco and Elizabeth McMillan. He grew up in Tacoma and attended Stadium High School.

Joe enlisted in United States Marine Corps in 1951 and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1954. During his time in the Marine Corps he witnessed the atomic bomb testing in the United States. He absolutely adored golfing and spent many happy hours at that activity.

He became a fixture at the Allenmore Golf course, making many friends for life. Joe will be forever remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, he was loved by many. He is survived by his son Joseph Turco and his wife Audrey, his daughter Jean Falb and her husband Roland Falb, sister MaryAnne Torrone as well as numerous adoring nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Theresa Turco Thompson and Betty Turco Norden. Joe requested to be cremated and his remains will be interred at the Tahoma National Cemetery located at 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042. There will be a 30 minute service at the cemetery on January 23, 2019 at 1:30 PM and a reception will follow at the Urban Elk Bar & Restaurant, (Allenmore Golf Course) located at 2013 South Cedar Street, Tacoma, WA from 3:00 PM ‐ 4:30 PM.
