Kevin Lee Morrow , January 16, 1955 — February 07, 2019

Kevin Lee Morrow, king of the backyard barbecue, died February 7, 2019. He was 64 years old. Born on January 16, 1955 in Colville, Washington to Gerald and Lila Morrow he spent his childhood being greatly loved.

He joined the Navy young and traveled across the globe, missing only Australia in his great life-long adventure. Kevin loved a good family gathering, the kind where you could park it in a bit of shade, crack open a cold one, and let the meat on a good set of ribs just melt off the bone as you tried to eat it. Feeding people was a private passion and he would barbecue, fish, and celebrate until every belly was full and every eye held a twinkle.

If the Seahawks happened to be playing that day, and better yet crushing Denver, then it was even more glorious. Intensely generous, stubborn, and sentimental about the most random things, Kevin was the kind of person about whom others often shared stories. Whether they were anecdotes about the bearded dragons he kept, stories about his daily bicycling to work at Kenworth, or masterful recountings of his time abroad, Kevin and those who knew him best always had a story and a cold brew to share.

He was and continues to be the best kind of tall tale passed down from person to person in the Morrow family. Kevin was preceded in death by his loving father Gerald; his step-mother Melba; and his step-father Donald. He continues to be celebrated by his mother Lila; his siblings Gordon, Dottie, and Kathy; his favorite aunt Jan; his children Brianna and David; and the great love of his life Beverly.

As lasting appreciation for his service, Kevin will be inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
