Joseph C. Finn, 95, of Orange Park, FL. passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 26, 2019. Chuck was born on March 22, 1923 in Blue Rapids, KS.

He was a proud member of the US Navy for 23 years, spending most of those years stationed on the west coast. He was present at Enewetak Atoll for nuclear testing and stationed in Okinawa in 1955. He served on several ships in the Pacific.

He met his wife, Gloria, while stationed at Oak Harbor, WA. Following retirement from the Navy, Chuck was employed with the Navy Exchange for 21 years, transferring to the east coast, then moved in 1970 to his last home in Orange Park, FL. He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria, four brothers and sister.

Chuck was a long time parishioner of St. Catherine’s and St. Luke Catholic Churches. He was a 4th degree Sir Knight in the Knights of Columbus Assembly 2564 and Bishop Patrick Barry KofC Council 10626. In recent years he actively enjoyed senior activities at both churches.

He is survived by his daughter Karen Seligman, son Charles Finn, Grandsons James Finn and Michael Seligman, great grand-daughter Kayla Finn, great grandsons Luke and Ben Seligman and great great-grandson Ryder Finn. He leaves behind special friends he cherished and who assisted him in his last years at home as well as many friends and neighbors. His ready smile, wonderful sense of humor and willingness to help will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, Orange Park on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with reception following. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church or to Community Hospice, Jacksonville, FL. Arrangements under the care of Jacksonville Memory Gardens 111 Blanding Blvd.
