Mrs. Josephine Moon “Jo” Stamps, age 81 of Centre, passed away Monday, May 20th at Cherokee Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be 3:PM Tuesday, May 21st at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Adam Cochran officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 3:PM Tuesday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Sean Stamps, Hunter Stamps, Josh Patterson, Ross Gosset, Wesley Gossett, Adam Shaw, Brandon Russell, Bryan Russell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the family of Johnny Mac Walker.

Survivors include her son, Gerald (Donna) Stamps; daughters, Cindy (Carl) Stamps Gossett, Pam (Phillip) Stamps; grandchildren, Sean (Cyndi) Stamps, Amber (Josh) Patterson, Hunter (Gabriel) Stamps, Ross (Erin) Gossett, Allison (Adam) Shaw, Wesley Gossett, Brandon (Amber) Russell, Bryan (Candace) Russell; great grandchildren, Logan, Peyton & Annabelle Stamps, Ryder & Adalyn Patterson, Karlie & Carson Gossett, Lilly & Kipton Shaw, Addison & Ava Russell, Bryce & Bentley Russell; special caretaker & friend, Sarah Peek; several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ellison “Boots” Stamps; brother, Odis Ray Moon, Jr.; sisters, Martha Ford, Betty Sue Anthony, Diane Bradley. Mrs. Stamps was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Odis Ray and Ethel Anthony Moon and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
