Joy’s Obituary Joy Mason, age 74, a resident of Schaumburg, IL, died March 12, 2019, at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence in Elk Grove Village, IL. She was born June 1, 1944 in Chicago, IL. Joy graduated from Greenville College, in Greenville, IL, with a bachelor’s degree.

She held numerous jobs during her career including teaching junior high school English, camp administrator at LOMC in Oregon, IL and receptionist at Motivational Excellence Incorporated. Joy loved singing on the worship team at Calvary Community Church. She enjoyed life and developed many friendships wherever she was.

She is survived by her brother, Victor (Lorelei) Franz of Winfield, IL; six nieces and nephews, Gregory, Gary (Carol), Kevin (Lilly), Keith (Sandy) and Rick (Laurie) Franz and Becky (Jeff) Neu; 18 great nieces and nephews; 4 great great nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Genevieve Franz. Preceded in death by her brother, Richard Franz and her great nephew, Gary Paul Franz, Jr. A visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church, 1000 S. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg, IL. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church.

Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Calvary Community Church at the address above or to Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, P.O. Box 9760,Henrico, Virginia 23228, where Joy’s nephew, Gary, serves as Vice President of International Ministry. Family and friends may sign a guest book at hultgrenfh.com.
