Obituary for Joy Stahl Joy Ann Stahl, 77, formally of Ralston, NE, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2018 at the Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born December 2, 1940 in Britton, SD, to Ray and Esther Shanahan. She was united in marriage to Elmer Stahl on October 17, 1959 in Huron, SD.

Joy held a variety of jobs throughout her life, and retired from MVP Laboratories in Ralston, Neb, a job she loved. She was a great seamstress and a very talented artist, providing her family and extended family with wonderful ceramic works of art. Her home-made bread was always a hit at family gatherings.

Her family includes her husband, Elmer, of Oskaloosa; her children, Joan Fletcher of Rapid City, SD, Daniel (Roxanne) Stahl of Hopkinsville, KY, and Catherine Stahl of Oskaloosa; five grandchildren, Jared (Erin) Fletcher, Brandy (Brent) Aukerman and Katie May (Devin) Rhodes, all of Rapid City; Devan Joy (Chris Wright) Stahl of East Lansing, MI. ; and Darian Golden Stahl of Montreal, Canada; as well as five great grandchildren; Jae Fletcher, Guy, Kara and Cameron Fletcher, and Rowen Rhodes, all of Rapid City. Joy’s greatest pleasure was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joy’s siblings are Jack Shanahan of Sedalia, MO. ; Jane Frazier of Muscatine, IA, Jeri Preston of Vermillion, SD, and Anthony Shanahan of Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Judy, and several nieces and nephews.

Per Joy’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held this summer in Huron with her extended family. Memorials can be made to MHP Hospice Services.
