Joyce Collar Slade, May 27, 1936 — December 27, 2018

Obituary for Joyce Collar – Slade Joyce Collar – Slade, age 82, passed away peacefully at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY, on May 27, 1936, she is the daughter of the late Anthony and Esther Weaver Rossi. She is a high school graduate and worked for many years locally in the leather industry.

She was a woman of her faith and was loyal to the church, a communicant of Church of the Holy Spirit and a member of the Women’s Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking cookies, camping and trips to the casino. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with friends and family and will be sorely missed by all.

Her loving family includes, son, Dominic Collar, Jr. and his wife Patty of Gloversville, a daughter, Debbie Shrey and her husband David of Winterville, NC; grandchildren, Natawnee, Amanda, Zachery, Cheyenne and Kaitlyn; great grandchildren, Bella, Ethan, Landon, Luke, Haven, Cecily and Emma; loving companion Jack Dunham. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Slade and brothers, Anthony Rossi, Jr. and Robert Rossi.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, from 2pm until 4pm at the Gloversville Funeral Service, 4 Second Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 10am at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 South Main Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. Fr.
