Joyce Hays Alston, 91, of Sherwood passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019. She was born November 26, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Walter and Mattie Campbell Hays. She was a graduate of Morrilton High School, attended Arkansas Tech and a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church.

She and her late husband also owned and operated Alston Tomato Company. Joyce is survived by her son, Ned Alston (Barbara); daughter, Charlotte Holt (William); son-in-law, Herbert Head; three grandchildren, Buddy Head (Karen), Jenny Graves, Billy Holt (Holly); great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Josiah, Haylee and William; her sister, Jeanette Rossi (Pete); and her fur-baby, Maggie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Alston; daughter, Sherry Head and sister, Martha Sue Lum.

Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church with a visitation prior to service at 8:30 a.m., at the church. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
