Joyce Marie Roland December 21, 1938 – February 06, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Joyce Marie (Phariss) Roland, age 80, of Blackwell, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Bronte Health and Rebab Center. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Blackwell Cemetery with Pastor Jeff White officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements. Joyce was born December 21, 1938 in Breckenridge, Texas to the late Samuel Ray and Frances Ruth (Overcash) Phariss. She married Charlie Roland March 15, 1958 and they moved to Blackwell in 1969.

Joyce was a graduate of Andrews High School, was a retired teacher’s aide and cheerleader sponsor for Blackwell CISD, and was a member of Blackwell Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband; Charlie Roland, Sr. of Blackwell, sons; Charlie Roland, Jr. of Blackwell, Larry Roland and wife Lolly of Blackwell and Gary Roland of Sweetwater. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Chayne Roland and wife Beverly of San Angelo, Justin Roland and wife Jessica of Savannah, Georgia, Gary Roland, Jr. of Sweetwater, Tosha Covington and husband Thomas of Sweetwater, Tisha Forbes and husband Toby of Sweetwater and Reecie Cox and husband Truston of Sweetwater and eleven great grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by a brother Roy L. Phariss in 2010 and a daughter-in-law Janet (Williams) Roland in 2012. Pallbearers will be Charlie Roland, Jr., Larry Roland, Gary Roland, Bluford Holland, Jr. Taylor and Randy Pieper.
