Joyce Lucille Smith Sandell passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, April 5, 2019 in her son’s home. She was 82. Joyce was born March 24, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan to Gilbert and Mabel (Baker)Smith.

She was a lifelong homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her son Robert (Glenna) Orvis of Reed City, and daughter-in-law Margaret Orvis, of Big Rapids; seven grandchildren: Lisa Orvis Adair, Dean Orvis, Matthew Orvis, all of Dowagiac Michigan, Nathan Orvis of Pell City, Alabama, Bennie Orvis of Camden, New York, Hannah Orvis of Reed City, Michigan, Chris Orvis of Big Rapids, Michigan; 16 great grandchildren; Two sisters, Jessie Glover and Tina Rodriquez of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, a brother Leroy Smith, of Tustin Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Ronald Orvis, and two brothers Gilbert(Mannie) Smith and Jeffrey Smith.

Private family services will be held at Webber Township Cemetery in Baldwin, Michigan on April 16, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Joyce Sandell please visit our Sympathy Store.
