Joyce Violet Markle Westerberg, 88 passed away in her home in Nampa, ID on June 4, 2018. She was born in Moorhead Minnesota to Robert and Nancy Paul Markle on July 3, 1929. She was baptized at the age of four in her home in Los Angeles California.

She was confirmed on Mother’s Day, May 9, 1942 in Seattle, WA. Her family moved back to the family farm in Fergus Falls in 1945. Joyce graduated from High School in Fergus Falls in 1947.

She met her husband Bill after he returned from the Navy in 1946. Their family farms were across the road from each other. Bill and Joyce were married on Oct.

22, 1947 in Fergus Falls. They moved to Nampa in 1952 where they started a Coast to Coast Store. Joyce worked with her husband at the store for 38 years.

Bill passed away on July 20, 2001. Joyce enjoyed working in her yard and growing her many beautiful flowers. She was active in the Nampa Senior Center.

The family would especially like to thank Claire Hellwedge for her hard work and care at the center. Joyce also enjoyed her card groups and the Senior Center Choir. A special thanks to all Mom’s friends for enriching her life.

Joyce is survived by her three sons; Richard (Ginger) Jeffrey and Charles (Brit) four grandsons and one granddaughter and nine great grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Zion Lutheran School. Come and join us at the Celebration of Joyce’s past life and the beginning of her new life with her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
