Jozelle Blair Pledger, 84, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Burleson, Texas. Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2019, Alvarado Church of Christ Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Alvarado Church of Christ, Brother Warren Odiorne, officiating. Burial: Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, Texas.

Pallbeares, Jeremy Pledger, Wes Pledger, James Pledger, Cade Grier, Brett Grier, Joseph Collette, Christopher Clark, Josh Lander. Jozelle was born December 18, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas to Henry Benjamin Blair and Floy Mae Busby Blair. She grew up in Handley, Texas and attended Handley High School.

At the age of 16 she married John Walter Pledger, July 3, 1951 at the Handley Church of Christ. For a number of years Jozelle was a wallpaper contractor in Fort Worth and surrounding communities. She was a member of Alvarado Church of Christ.

Jozelle was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, January 25, 2008; her parents; brother, J. W. Harper, sisters, Frances Hamm and Treva Spurlock; and nephew, John Harper. Those left to cherish her memory: son, Jimmy Pledger and wife Rhonda; daughters, Debra Ethridge and husband Paul, Julie Grier and husband Michael; 10 grandchildren; Jeremy Pledger, Shannon Ethridge Lander, Wes Pledger, James Pledger, Cade Grier, Blair Ethridge Clark, Brett Grier, Cristy Grier, Sharon Collette, and Destiny Biolante, 14 great-grandchildren whom she was so proud to be Nana. Also her nieces and nephews, Steve Ham, Gayle Von Loh, David Hamm, Karla Hamm Williams, Vicki Spurlock Ard and Jerry Spurlock.

A host of many friends that she shared so many memories with. Memorials may be made to Christian Homes of Abilene.
