OBITUARY Juanita Faye Patterson June 22, 1937 – October 26, 2018 Mrs. Juanita Faye Patterson, 81 of China Grove passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at her home. Born on June 22, 1937 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late James Covington and Eva Vina Atkinson Swanner. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she worked for many years for China Grove Cotton Mills and earlier for Pine Ridge Grocery Store.

Earlier in life, she was a longtime active member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and most recently an active member of New Covenant Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Mrs Patterson loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandsons Michael Patterson and Taylor Sloop.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Winford Patterson, son Gary Patterson (Debbie), daughter Teresa Sloop (Tim), grandchildren, Skip Sloop, Terry Sloop, Jatana Powers, Tabby Ervin and Tahree Drye, as well as 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her brothers, James Swanner and Charles Swanner (Joyce) and sisters, Margaret Linker (Arlie), Ruth Adams and Shirley Ann Bell (Ronnie). Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at New Covenant Baptist Church in Kannapolis, with funeral to follow at 1:00 also at the church with Pastor Roger E. Steadman officiating.
