Judith L Schroeder July 17, 1947 – May 12, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation It was a beautiful Sunday morning on May 12th when Judith (Markee) Schroeder, 71 of Mauston went home to be with Jesus. There, she was reunited with her parents, Donald Markee Sr. and Viola Bogardus. Judi was also preceded in death by her husband John D., step-father Lester Bogardus, brothers Donald Jr. and Dennis, and her beloved dog, Bianca.

Mourning her loss, while celebrating her life, are her children Scott and Tara Schroeder, Sharon Monzer, and Samantha Komay. Judi’s nine grandchildren Bree, Olivia and Danielle Schroeder, John and Thomas Schroeder, and Mason, Alan, Dylan and Benny Komay will hold dear so many wonderful memories of their grandma for the rest of their lives. Those who knew Judi the longest and feel her loss so sharply are her siblings: Bonnie Douglas, Delilah Haas, Ronald and Linda Markee, Sam and Marilyn Baggs, Kenneth and Sharon Markee, and Clifford Markee.

Throughout her 71 years, Judi made many great friends with her neighbors, bowling team, and co-workers. She worked for years in the lunch room at her kids’ middle school, and in housekeeping at the Park Oasis Inn, Mauston hospital and the Alaskan Supper Club. Her favorite pastimes were scrapbooking memories of her grandkids and coloring.

She loved to gather with her neighbors at the Lemonweir Villa Apartments in New Lisbon to play bingo and have potlucks. During her final two months she was cared for at Serenity House in Tomah where she was surrounded by a thoughtful, caring staff, including her favorite CNA Pam, who reminded her of her daughters. Please join family and friends in celebrating Judi’s life this Saturday, May 18th from 10 AM – 2 PM in the Community Room at Mauston City Hall by Riverside Park.

There will be a Time of Sharing at noon, officiated by Pastor Bruce from Serenity House.
