Obituary for Judith Garvey (Wood) Judith Anne Garvey departed for Heaven on July 28, 2018. Judy was born October 27, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of the late Frank and Jane Wood. Judy graduated from Butler University with BS and MS degrees.

She taught Spanish and English prior to becoming a Guidance Counselor. She retired from Central Nine Vocational School in Greenwood, Indiana. Judy also supervised student teachers for IPFW in Fort Wayne.

She enjoyed teaching young folk’s Bible study classes at Wallen Baptist Church, where she was a member. Judy loved God, music, reading, traveling, and Red lipstick. Surviving are her husband, Patrick Garvey; sons, John and Jim Bailey; step-children, Craig and Scott Garvey, Lisa (Garvey) McMinds; 13 grandchildren; and brother, Frank Wood.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Wood. A Memorial Service will be 5 pm, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Wallen Baptist Church with calling from 3 pm until the service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
