Judy Anne Boswell-Treue September 29, 1942 – December 23, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Judy Anne Boswell-Treue, a resident of McAlester died Sunday, December 23, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Judy was the second born child of Ernest and Juanita Gass and came into this world September 29th, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School, class of 1959, and attended college at Northeastern in Tahlequah.

She married Virgil M. Boswell in May of 1967 and they owned and operated a small retail spirits business in Grove, Oklahoma during the 1970s. Later career endeavors included real estate and managing her brother’s security business, Tulsa Security, working for Oklahoma Gas Consultants International (OGCI) and Arvest Bank. She was an avid fan of high school sports and supported her alma mater and her daughter’s high school, Tulsa Central by attending the football games and volunteering where needed.

Students called her “Mom” and one band student even wrote a song for her and performed it when she ran for Mayor of Tulsa in 1986. Judy’s interests included volunteering for literacy efforts, the Republican party, and travel as she hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail and traveled all over Europe. Judy is survived by beloved husband Thomas N. Treue of McAlester, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, her daughter Anne Boswell Taylor and son-in-law Chad E. Taylor of Karval, Colorado, and granddaughter Hannah Elise Mitchell.

She is also survived by sister Ernestine Mann McCall and brother-in-law Dr. Charles McCall of Tulsa, nephews Kendall Scott Mann and Pete Mann, nieces Cyndee Gass Magno and Christie Breedlove of Tulsa and many great nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by parents Ernest L. Gass and Juanita Ward Gass Marr, brother Larry Nathaniel Gass and niece Theresa Gass. She loved to read, travel and to spend time with family and friends.
