Julia “Faye” McLemore Bruce, 80, of Smiths Station, AL passed away late Wednesday night, May 22, 2019 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA. Faye was born December 20, 1938 in Phenix City, AL to the late Cecil McLemore and Dorothy Eason Woods. She had worked with Piggly Wiggly for many faithful years, as well as Food Gaint.

She enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, spending time outdoors observing nature, and loved working with her humming bird feeders and the joy of flight when the humming bird seasons came. She was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church in Smiths Station. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Wayne Bruce, two sons, Kelvin Davis, and Donnie Bruce, a daughter, Patricia Sparks, one granddaughter, Kelli Woods Schroer, and a grandson, R J Davis.

She is survived by her children, Robert H. Woods, Jr. and wife Vicki, David McBride and wife Cindy, JoAnn McBride Bush, Roger McBride and wife Nancy, Robert “Clyde” Davis and wife Monica, and Sharon Smith and husband Jeff’ two sisters, Sandy McLemore Newbold and husband Dan, and Sue McLemore O’Neal, one brother, Cecil “Woody” McLemore and wife Shirley, (15) grandchildren, (17) great grandchildren and two on the way, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends. Her loving family plans to hold a celebration of life memorial service at Union Grove United Methodist Church, day and time to be announced, respectfully, her loving family.
