Erma Coker Meadows, 89, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Phenix City Healthcare. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City with Rev. Grant Parker officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Mrs. Meadows was born April 17, 1930 in Taylor County, GA, daughter of the late Ezekiel Boston Adams and Gussie Mae Schrimshire Adams. She worked as a Registered Nurse and Supervisor at Cobb Hospital for over 20 years and then assisted in opening Hughston Hospital.

After moving to Lake Martin, she worked as a Home Health Nurse in the Dadeville, AL area. Mrs. Meadows was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served in the Prayer Ministry. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and Auburn Football.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Adrian Coker and Hershel Meadows; two sons, Kenneth Coker and Gary Coker; four sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Watson of Phenix City, AL; a granddaughter, Christy Kushmar and husband Alex of Phenix City, AL; three great-grandchildren, Kherington, Kinzley and Kollyns Kushmar; special niece Linda Barber and husband Curtis; great-niece and caregiver, Karen Melton; numerous other extended family and caring friends. The family would like offer a special thank you to the staff at Phenix City Healthcare and Kindred Hospice.
