Rosa Ellen Paulk, 84, of Fortson, GA passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Larry Taylor and Patricia Taylor officiating.

The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, May 14, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Rosa was born on October 1, 1934 in Nashville, TN to the late Dinzell and Susie Hickerson.

She was employed for over 19 years with Briarcrest Daycare at North Highland Assembly. Rosa enjoyed working in her garden and fishing. She attended Cascade Hills Church.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her husband, who was the love of her life. Rosa will be greatly missed by her family, church family, and friends. Other than her parents, Rosa is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, James William Paulk; son, Terry James Paulk; and sister, Sue Faulk.

Survivors include sons, Earnest Paulk and wife, Shirley, of Phenix City, AL; Donnie Paulk and wife Sandra of Fortson, GA; grandchildren, Shane Paulk, Renee Ziglar, Karen Emerson, Lori Abbott; great-grandchildren, Kayla Halstead, Allie Halstead, Paxton Ziglar, Brittany Ziglar, Cody Kirkland, Steven “Chase” Abbott, A1C Devin Emerson and wife, Macaila, Cason Emerson; great-great-grandchild, Mailee Emerson. The family would like to thank Sandra Paulk, Allie Halstead and Renee Ziglar for the love and care they gave Rosa. Those so desiring to extend condolences may visit www.
