Junabelle Hamlin, 83, of Osawatomie, Kansas, formerly of Paola, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018, at Vintage Park assisted Living, Osawatomie, Kansas. June was born Monday, October 21, 1935, in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Elmer Jack and Ida (Rossman) Lucas. She grew up in Hillsdale, Kansas.

She was united in marriage to Dale Hamlin on Dec. 26, 1954, in Carrollton, MO. June was a military wife for 22 years.

She stayed at home and raised her three children until… Read More » they went to high school. Thereafter, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Medical Lodge in Paola until she retired at 65. She and Dale have visited every state in the U.S. and a good piece of the world during their military span.

She enjoyed fishing for halibut in Alaska and crocheting. Survivors include two daughters Debbie (Donnie) Rosner of Paola, KS and Lucy (Bob) Orr of Mesquite, NV; her son Greg Hamlin and his wife Shelia Johnson of Oak Grove, MO; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her sister Barb Lucas of Carrollton, MO; her brother Ron (Lori) Lucas of Houston, TX; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Bob, Wayne, and Donald Lucas.

There will be a private family gathering. The family suggests memorial contributions to Regina’s Rescues and they can be sent in care of Dengel and Son Mortuary – Crematory, 305 N.
