OBITUARY June McCormick Delhom August 11, 1920 – July 27, 2018 June McCormick Delhom, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on July 27, 2018 at the age of 97. June is survived by her daughter Diane Phillips, her grandchildren Kevin Phillips and Rene Mouton (Joey), and her great-grandchildren Erin, Megan, and Matthew Mouton. June is preceded in death by her loving husband, John J. Delhom Jr., her grandparents John F. McCormick Sr. and Amelia M. McCormick, her parents John F. McCormick Jr. and Emma L. Grant, and her sister Margaret Lee Tweedie.

June’s fondest childhood memory was spending time with her grandmother Amelia, who raised her, as well as playing with her cousins in Henderson Point, MS. She was part of the greatest generation, a survivor of The Great Depression, and a bride of a WWII soldier and became a mother not long after. She was a true Southern lady with a gentle soul as well as the matriarch of the McCormick family, where she was the glue that held the family together.

Being a true Tiger through and through, she retired from the LSU Department of Architecture and was a LSU sports fan. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking for family gatherings, baking, and making candy. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who made her smile every time they visited.

Visitation will begin at 11:00am until service time at 2:00pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday July 30, 2018. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any U.S. Veterans organization of your choice.
