Obituary of June Estep June Rose (Ector) Estep, 88, of Montour Falls, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on June 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys (Church) Ector. June was born and raised in Townsend, NY where she lived until she met and married the love of her life, Lee Estep, in Beaver Dams on August 25, 1951.

After their marriage, June and Lee moved to Big Flats, NY where they welcomed their one and only child Julie. Julie and her family were the center of her world until her very last breath. June was an avid card player, collector of dolls, beads and buttons.

June could be found enjoying a beer or two and dancing the night away at the Montour Moose Lodge. Her smile and the sparkle in her eye will be remembered by all who made her acquaintance. June thoroughly enjoyed her monthly outings with the ladies of the “Cookie Club”.

She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Lee Estep in 1993; special friend, Bob Hutcheson; brothers, Walter, Joseph, Robert Ector; and sisters, Josephine Crouthamel, Fannie Lewis and Joyce Hughey. June is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Larry Rinker of Montour Falls; granddaughters, Colette Summers (Jeff Nichols) of Odessa and Heather (Greg) Lodge of Alpine; five great grandchildren, Caitlin (Dallas) Hatch, Aiden Summers, Lauren (Kyle) VanGalder, Madison Lodge (Nate Rine), and Emma Lodge (Jimmy Bergen); three great great grandchildren, Jackson Lee Hatch, Kali Rose and LeAnn Marie VanGalder; sisters-in-law, Fledra Ector of Watkins Glen and Doris Ector of Montour Falls; brothers-in-law, Lynn Hughey of Watkins Glen, Howard (Brenda) Estep of Lindley and William (Charlotte) Estep of Painted Post; special friends, Linda Gibson, Dawn Kent; June’s faithful feline companions, Sadie and Sassy; and by several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Seneca View, Schuyler Hospital, and Drs.

Terry, Borzell and Saks for the care they provided. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 1-3 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Her funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm.

Immediately following the funeral, everyone is invited to the Montour Moose Lodge for a reception. Burial will be in Montour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility Unit 1, 220 Steuben St., Montour Falls, NY 14865, or Montour Falls Moose Lodge-Children’s Fund, 2096 State Route 14, Montour Falls, NY 14865.
