Juniom Amante Acol, age 78, of Walnut Creek, California, passed away Sunday evening, February 24, 2019 surrounded by his family at his beloved home. He is now reunited with his late children Danessa and Darius “Bully” Acol and other family members. He was born on June 13, 1940, in Lanai Cityi, Hawaii, he was the son of the late Juan and Nieves (Amante) Acol.

Juniom was an ornamental ironworker for 25 years and owned and operated his own landscaping business called “We Got Dirt” on the Big Island of Hawaii. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing on his boat called “Good Times”, diving and bowling with his sons, brothers, nephews and other friends and family. He was an avid bowler and was a certified bowling instructor for the youth league at Kona Bowl in Hawaii.

Juniom was also a certified scuba diver. Juniom is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Vivian Cagaoan Acol; along with 2 surviving children; Desiree Acol (Kim Tinei) of Walnut Creek, California, Dominic and Sandra (Russell) Acol of Fredricksbug, Virginia; five grandchildren, Christian Kekoa ‘O Kalani Acol (Ellyn Kesterson), Louis Juniom Kahakauila Tinei-Acol, Lestat Dakota Acol-Newgen, Ashleigh Kauilanikapuauluwehi Adkins (Jason) and Alexis Vivian Kim Kawenaulaalohinani; one great grandchild, Rochelle KeAnelalaniikemakaulukoa Acol; brother James Acol, Sr., sisters Octavia Maruoka (Ken), Olivia Sasada, Judith DeMello; his 94 year old mother-in-law Filomena “Tina” Manuel Lopez; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives. Memorial services for Juniom Acol will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2019.

Christ the King Church 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. Early lunch and visit with the family to follow from 12:00 until 4:00 PM at Walnut Creek Manor Recreational Hall 81 Mayhew Way, Walnut Creek, CA 94597. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Family at 306 Shaw Road, Walnut Creek, CA 94597.

Aloha Attire Juniom Acol asked that his cremated remains be scattered over the ocean at Keahou Beach Harbor in Kona, Hawaii. This beach harbor is a favorite fishing and diving spot where the family spends most of their time. A separate Memorial for the spreading of his ashes will be planned for a later time and we will share details once we can confirm dates with his children and grandchildren.
