OBITUARY JW Knight November 15, 1927 – September 15, 2018 Rev. J.W. Knight age 90 of Steele, joined his Lord in Heaven on Saturday September 15, 2018. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 2 P.M. prior to the service in the chapel. Graveside service with military honors will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Rev.

Bruce Word will officiate. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing. J.W. was born on November 15, 1927 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Willie and Valda Knight.

J.W. was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1945 to 1947. After returning from his military service, J.W. met the love of his life, Helen Goss of Talladega and they were married on April 17, 1948. J.W. and Helen raised their four children as they built a life for their family in ministry.

J.W. was ordained in 1957, furthered his seminary education as a graduate of Campbellsville College in Kentucky, and served as a pastor in the local area for more than fifty years. Rev. Knight was preceded in passing by his parents, Willie and Valda Knight; Son, Mikki Knight; Grandson, Justin Knight; and sister, Addie Mae Hutton.

He leaves behind; Wife of seventy years, Helen Goss Knight. Son, Ronald Gene Knight (Joyce). Daughters, Kimberly Susan Burks (Dale) and Valletta Jo Reed.

Daughter-in-law, Debbie Knight. Brother, Paul Knight (Lelia). Grandchildren; Cyndi Blevins (Lewis), John Knight (Tonja), Teresa Parrish (Scottie), Chris Hart (Amy), Brandy Serio (Michael), Jessica Sanders (Cliff).

Along with eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Dale Burks, Michael Serio, Randy Honeycutt, Tim Reed, Marion Farley, and Glenn Hicks. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Peggy Helton, to VA nurses Pam Rosson and Debbie Williamson, and to the staff of Alacare Hospice.
