She was born March 7, 1945 in Borger to A.O. and Margaret (Fox) Whitfield. She was a member of the Church of Christ , Borger and was a retired secretary for Spring Creek School and Frank Phillips College.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents. Her survivors include: a daughter, Lisa Johnson and husband, Kendall of Great Falls, Montana; 2 sons: Richard Stephenson and wife Yvonne of Amarillo and Ray Stephenson and wife Rhonda of Borger; a brother, Tom Whitfield of Dallas; 6 grandchildren: Kesli Cazarez and husband Daniel of Fritch; Aly Gleason of Borger; Alex Stephenson of Borger; Keillan Johnson, Samantha Johnson and Ian Johnson all of Great Falls, Montana. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery, Borger.

The family will welcome friends on Thursday, October 4 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains, Borger. Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors, Borger.
