Karen’s Obituary Karen D. Pembridge, 68, Port Orange, FL, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, in Port Orange, FL, surrounded by those who loved her. A memorial service will be held 10am Saturday, February 16, at Port Orange Presbyterian Church. Karen was born October 24, 1950, in West Pittston, PA to Joseph and Jean (Thomas) Dymond.

She graduated from Wyoming Area High School and went on to work in the insurance industry for over 40 years, most recently as an executive underwriter. Karen married William Pembridge of West Wyoming, PA. Karen was a loving mother to her son James and loving grandmother to her granddaughters Olivia Grace and Adalyn Mae.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed craft activities and had been known to make dolls and quilts. She enjoyed traveling and sharing cultural experiences and history with family. Most recently she enjoyed baking with her grandchildren and cuddling with her two dogs Sam and Jack.

She is survived by her son, James Pembridge, daughter in law, Lindsay Pembridge; granddaughters, Oliva Grace and Adalyn Mae (Port Orange, FL); sisters, Donna Paznonski (Pittston, PA) and Laurie Hetro (Overland Park, KS); niece, Jennifer Mikhalkov (Mountain Top, PA); nephews, Jeffrey Paznonski (Pittston, PA), David Hetro (Lenexa, KS), Stephen Hetro (New Orleans, LA). She is preceded in death by husband, William Pembridge, and her sister, Barbara Wivell. The family of Karen would like to extend sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Daytona Beach, Halifax Health Hospice Care Center, Port Orange, and to all of the family and friends who provided support and love to Karen over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Halifax Health Hospice, or the American Cancer Society in her honor.
