Karen Elaine Gaskins, age 64, died on May 18, 2019 after a valiant fight against cancer. She was born on June 12, 1954 in Lakeland, Florida. Karen was an LPN for many years and had great pleasure later in life serving as a nanny to other families.

Karen was an active member of Cornatzer Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC, continuing to be a good a faithful servant while battling her diagnosis. She is preceded by her mother Carolyn Cooper. Karen is survived by her father Truman Cooper, sister Susan Day and husband Randy, daughters Beth Hughes and husband Brian, and Rachel Huffman and her husband Andrew.

She is also survived by granddaughters Julie, Olivia, and Ellen Harper Huffman and nephew Dustin Joyce. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on May 23, 2019 at Cornatzer Baptist Church in Mocksville. Pastor Ottis Hurst will be officiating.
