Obituary for Karen Kay Johnson Print Karen Kay Johnson joined the glory of her Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, in heaven on January 5, 2019 at the age of 70. Karen was born in Austin, Minnesota on April 24, 1948 to Merton and Anna Steinbach. She was educated at Austin High School, and the University of California at San Diego.

She worked for several years as a medical technologist. She married Timothy A Johnson on January 3, 1981. They lived in El Cajon, California, Zurich, Switzerland, Rochester, Minnesota, and finally in Tucson, Arizona.

She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Tucson. She was active in the various churches of which she had been a member as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her husband, brothers, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews and nieces and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
