Obituary for Katherine Parker Clifton FORT WORTH – Katherine “Kathey” Clifton, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, of complications of ALS. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct.

6, 2018, in Greenwood Chapel. Catered reception immediately following at the Live Oak Room at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: ALS Association of Texas, 5830 Granite Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75024 or Alzheimer’s Association of North Central Texas, 2630 West Freeway # 100, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.

Kathey was born in Houston, Texas to John “Jack” Edward Parker II and Catherine Julia Swanson Parker. Kathey graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1953. She married James “J.

V” V. Clifton Jr., on July 10, 1953 and they moved to Fort Worth in 1955. Kathey was a devoted wife and mother. Since 1957 she was an active member of the Ridglea United Methodist Church.

After her children left to attend college, she went to work for the FWISD, mostly at Western Hills Elementary. After retiring, Kathey enjoyed traveling the world. When not traveling, she could be found at the Woman’s Club of Fort Worth with her friends from Club Bon Soir, Club Fidelite, Bridge Study Group and Stage Struck.

Survivors: Son, James “Jay” V. Clifton III; daughter, Denise Clifton Claborn and husband, Kenneth; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
