Kathleen’s Obituary Kathleen Geist, 76 died March 7, 2019 in Andover, KS. She was born on September 8, 1942 in Bennington, KS, the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothea (Arbuthnot) Austin. Kathleen was raised in Bennington and graduated from Bennington High School in 1960.

She attended Kansas Wesleyan University for two years and graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in Education. Kathleen married Ronald Geist on December 28, 1963 and they made their home in Salina. She taught third grade at Oakdale, Franklin and Meadowlark Hills schools, retiring after 33 years.

In 1999, they moved to Wakefield, KS, then returned to Salina in 2016. Kathleen was a member of the Church of the Cross-United Methodist Church in Salina and a former member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Susan Miller.
